Tested by ICStation's Outstanding Partner Hugatry's HackVlog: ![]() The so-called low-pass filter board is to filter the human voice above the treble part, keep the low-frequency part of the amplification to improve the intensity of bass playback, playback will not hear the sound and high frequency of the instrument sound. I’ll explain here what I mean: You’ll likely have to give up front-rear fader control ability as you’re giving up 2 channels for the rear speakers to drive a sub (2 front/2 rear). To drive 4 speakers and a sub with a single 4-channel amp you’ll have to make a few compromises. Depending on the power requirements, you might want to connect it to a pair of bridged channels if the sub can be run at 4 ohms.1). Let’s get a few things out of the way before we go any further. Testing another sub or amp would be ideal, but in liu of that you could try hooking the sub up to another channel on the amp. If you're still out of luck, you've probably got an issue with the wiring/connections, the amp sub channel or the sub itself. It says: if using line level connections from a preamp or signal processor, use both Left and Right. If that solves your problem, utilize the rear channels on your head unit or a pair of splitters if only the front channels are available. The manual does it can be connected to pre-amp out though. The front and rear channels will be full range so make sure the low pass filter is set to something reasonable - maybe 100 or so if you're not familiar with it (and make sure it's switched on). Not being an expert I have no idea about this part, but it's possible that the sub channel on your receiver already filters out the nigher frequencies. Your amp also may have a switch to use a single RCA input instead of needing to use use the sub input (a 5-channel amp I had could use a single input for the front and rear channels like that, but I'm not sure about the sub). The sub does have a crossover and gain (virtually all active subs do). ![]() Even easier would be just switching the 'main' RCA's going to your amp over to the sub input to see if the sub is back to normal (without the speakers playing of course). If you have a rear channel (red + white) on the head unit that's un-used you could try that instead of the sub channel. I'd try using another one of those next to see if the issue is with the sub channel on your receiver. You should be able to run your sub off of any 'channel' from your head unit - front, rear or sub. I'd start with bypassing that sub level controller to see if that makes a difference. I'm no expert but I thought I'd chime in with some troubleshooting suggestions.
